Susan E. Davis, PT & Author 

Susan is a New Jersey Licensed Physical Therapist who holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a post-graduate Certificate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago IL, 1977.
Susan began her career in hospital settings, both acute-care and inpatient rehabilitation. She received exposure to many types of medical conditions and care management, and advanced into administrative roles in rehabilitation departments.
After 9 years of hospital practice, she realized her dream of co-owning an outpatient private practice, by establishing and opening Marlboro Physical Therapy, PA in 1986.

Marlboro Physical Therapy (MPT) grew to become a 2-office practice, with over 30 employees and fully-equipped facilities, serving many patients in 2 counties, with over 15,000 visits annually. Susan's areas of expertise in clinical practice at MPT were spinal evaluation and intervention as well as limb lengthening and skeletal deformity rehabilitation. She also developed a supervised fitness program called Vitalize, for persons over age 50 with medical conditions. As CEO of the company, Susan was responsible for overseeing the financial operations and staff development.
After 30 years of human practice, Susan retired from MPT at the end of 2007 to pursue another dream of combining physical therapy with her passion for animals. Since 2001, she has been taking courses at the University of Tennessee's Canine Rehabilitation program at the Veterinary school. In April 2008 she formed an entity, Joycare Onsite, LLC, to provide in-home rehabilitation and physical therapy services to dogs and small animals.She gains further experience by offering her services pro bono weekly to animal shelters. She served the Associated Humane Societies Animal Haven Farm and the Popcorn Park Zoo, in Forked River, NJ under the supervision of the Popcorn Park Animal Clinic staff for over 5 years. She currently provides weekly care to the Monmouth County SPCA in Eatontown, NJ.

In 2013, Susan authored and published a book "Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation for Animals: A Guide for the Consumer" through Joycare Media, a division of Joycare Onsite, LLC. She has also widely contributed guest articles for pet-related blogs.
Susan was an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association for 37 years and the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO) since 1988. In 2004 she received "Businesswoman of the Year" award from the Monmouth/Ocean chapter of NJAWBO. She currently is active in the Monmouth County Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the International Association for Veterinary Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy.
In April 2016 she received the Donna Frownfelter Community Service Achievement Award from Northwestern University's Physical Therapy Alumni Association.
